HorseFeathers Equine Facility is seeking an intern to assist in the daily activities necessary to keep our farm running smoothly and effectively. We are seeking a reliable, energetic intern who is a self-starter, reliable and has a great work ethic. This intern needs to be able to problem-solve and identify tasks that need tending to without being directed. Applicant must be 18yrs or older and have reliable transportation. Prior horse knowledge is preferred but also willing to train the right applicant. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking to expand his or her equestrian portfolio. Intern Requirements and Qualifications

  •  Prefer previous horse care and riding experience
  • Prefer intern to be in an equestrian program or pursuing entrance into an equestrian educational program
  • Reliable transportation required

Key Responsibilities*

  •  Daily feeding
  •  Mucking stalls
  • Turning horses out and bringing horses in
  • Daily grooming
  • Tacking up lesson horses
  • Assisting instructors in the ring and on the ground
  • Home care while traveling away
  • Assisting with training
  • Bathing horses
  • Cleaning tack
  • Assistance at horse shows
  • General barn cleaning and maintenance
  • Assisting with rehabbing and re-training of rescues
  • Assisting at special events
  • Assisting with camps
