2019 Show Schedule

​​​POLICY AND GUIDELINES:
Registration and payment for the HorseFeathers Summer Horse Camp must be completed and submitted to HorseFeathers at 770 Bryson Lane, Midlothian TX 76065 or colleen@horsefeathersequine.com (paypal and e-mail). Registration and deposit of $75 per camper, per session, is due by May 25th. Payment of deposit is required at the time of registration to reserve your space. Due to limited space, refunds will not be given. The deposit required for each week registered is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Balance and all camp forms are due one week before the enrolled camp week. No refunds will be issued within two weeks of the registered camp week.There will be no proration of fees for any hours a participant cannot attend. Day camp is rain or shine.

AGE GUIDELINES: No experience required. Children must be comfortable with a drop off situation.


CAMP WEEKS:
(Ages 8 & up)

HOURS: Early drop or late pickup can be arranged for an additional fee.


Sessions ages 8 & up:
MONDAY - FRIDAY     8am - 2pm    

Cost: $325/session/rider or $70/day  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

Sessions ages 8 & UNDER:
MONDAY - WEDNESDAY     9am - 12noon    

Cost: $150/session/rider or $55/day NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Must have good listening skills and able to be on own without  parent. No one under the age of 4yrs old is accepted.

Camp will meet regardless of the weather. THERE ARE NO MAKEUPS.


**LIMITED ENROLLMENT** Total price is $325 per week per camper ages 8 & up or $150 per week per camper  ages 8 & under. Day rates are available and you don’t need to come the full week but it is recommended. A $75 deposit is required for each week registered is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Medical Needs/Allergies: HorseFeathers is not permitted to administer medication to program participants. In the event of a medical emergency, HorseFeathers will administer first aid, CPR, and rescue in the best interest of the participant. Emergency contact will be contacted if care is administered.


CAMP ITINERARY:
Horsemanship Skills; grooming, tacking up, handling on the ground, basic equine care and safety.
Riding Lesson Daily; This includes mounting, riding on or offline depending on skill level, learning to post, obstacles and canter only where appropriate or skill level is matched.
Demonstrations; our senior riders and staff will show other ways  to have fun with or exercise your horse. Different styles of  competition with our Morgan show horses will be seen.
Games & Crafts; unmounted and mounted games as  well as arts and take home crafts.

WHAT TO BRING:
Campers will need to bring a lunch (refrigeration available) and WATER or refillable water jug. For riding; they will need pants or jeans, boot or sturdy closed-toe shoes. They may bring a change of clothes for after riding activity; shorts and sneakers. NO OPEN TOE SHOES are allowed around horses or in barn area.


Dress Code: Participants should dress appropriately for the activities scheduled. HorseFeathers recommends jeans, layers, and some type of boot with a heel. Mud boots are recommended if we have had a lot of rain. These can be brought as an extra pair of shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, rubber “crocs”-style shoes, tennis shoes, and other open-toed shoes are not acceptable attire for ranch activities, but may be packed in case of extracurricular activities. Please send your child with appropriate under/outerwear for possible cold weather. Riding helmets are provided if you don’t own one. No bicycle helmets allowed.

Personal Belongings: Please have all personal items labeled with first and
last name or together in a bag/backpack.

Nutrition/Snacks: Participants should come equipped with a water bottle or canteen labeled clearly with their name (no glass containers permitted) and packed lunch/snacks.

ELECTRONIC POLICY: Participants are able to bring cellular devices, but they must stay turned off and out of site during camp hours. They are to be used only in case of

Equine Facility LLC

Summer Camps 2019!


Camp is geared toward teaching everything from horse care, mounted and unmounted lessons, horse management, and general farm skills. There will be mounted and unmounted games as well as take home crafts. While we focus our lessons learning about the Morgan horse, the basics can be applied learning to any breed. Cost includes a t-shirt and USB with photos and/or video from camp.

Cost is $325/camp for ages 8 & up. $170/camp for ages 8 & under sessions. No prior experience is required. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required for each session registered.


Sessions are broken down to age, see below. 8 & up is M-F, 8-2pm and 8 & under is 3 days, 9-12.
